Method 1: Odin Tool
1: Firstly download the Odin tool on PC.
2: Also download TWRP recovery.
3: Power off your phone. Then boot it into download mode.
4: For that purpose press and hold Power button+ Volume down key simultaneously until the download mode appears.
5: Keeping the phone in downloading mode, connect it to PC using USB cable.
6: Launch the downloaded Odin tool on your PC.

7: In the cmd window type the following command and press enter:
adb devices
When you press enter, a message saying ‘List of devices attached’ will appear. This will confirm that your phone is successfully connected to the PC.
8: To boot your phone into fastboot mode enter the below command.
adb reboot bootloader
9: To confirm whether it is functional or not, enter the below command:
fastboot devices
Note: Some random numbers along with the message ‘List of devices attached’ will confirm that fastboot is functional.
10: Let’s flash the latest TWRP recovery on Galaxy A40 now. For that, type the below-given command and hit enter key:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
This will start the actual TWRP recovery installation process. It will hardly complete within a few minutes.
