Install Side-load the Unc0ver jailbreak: If you depend on side-loadable unc0ver jailbreak tools like Electra, Chimera, or unc0ver. Then you must understand the superfluity of ways you can download them on your iPhone or iPad. However, other procedures like AltStore, Cydia Impactor, or other third-party signing services like iOS Ninja and Ignition. These tend to forget that you can use Apple’s own Xcode development platform on the Mac to complete this task.
The Xcode method came in the grip for me when the Cydia Impactor stopped working for the full period. Also, when all the best signing services revoked, to make matters tough. Unfortunately, my handset’s iOS version was too old to run AltStore. Make sure, we’ll be sharing the Xcode method in this guide:
All You Need To Know:
Using Xcode to side-load your jailbreak can be the best deal more complex and time-wasting than using the simple methods above. However, it tends to be more reliable. To make it work, simply follow things:
- Mac
- Jailbreakable iOS device
- MFi-certified lightning to USB cable
- A free Apple developer account
- The latest version of Xcode
- The latest version of iOS app signer, a side-loadable jailbreak app
We’ll be using the unc0ver jailbreak throughout this guide as it’s the latest jailbreak available. But if you want, you can use this procedure to side-load Chimera for iOS 12 or Electra for iOS 11.
Once you collect what you want, you can just move on to the other section of this guide to in9itate downloading your jailbreak.
Install Side-load the Unc0ver jailbreak App With Xcode
If you are ready to install your side-loadable jailbreak app with Xcode, then follow these steps carefully:
Step 1:
Initially, launch Xcode and tap the Create a new Xcode project button in the startup window.
Step 2:
Remember Single View App is chosen in the next window. Also, tap on the blue Next button.
Step 3:
Input a Product Name, Organization Name, and Organization Identifier of your selecting. Also, tap on the blue Next button. For example, we call the project “unc0ver” and use “allaboutos” as the Organization and Identifier, but make sure you use something more original.
Step 4:
In the next window, select your Desktop location to save files to, then tap on the blue Create button.
Step 5:
Now attach your jailbreakable iPhone or iPad into your Mac with MFi-certified lightning to USB cable. Also, trust it from both the device and your Mac if prompted.
Step 6:
In the Xcode window, tap on the drop-down menu and choose your connected device.
Step 7:
Now, tap on the item at the top of the project tree using the blue development icon then tap Signing & Capabilities.
Step 8:
Tap in the Teams drop-down menu and add the newest team or select an existing team. In our situation, we select an existing one.
Note: But if you don’t have a team. Then Xcode prompts you to sign in with an Apple ID associated with a free developer account. Simply follow the prompts, then choose it from the Team drop-down menu and scroll on to the next step.
Step 9:
Then, you’ll need to do an instant check to remember you have all the tools you want to. Simply launch Terminal and input the following command:
xcode-select --install
Note: If you get the bug saying “error: command line tools are already installed, use “Software Update” to download updates,” then you’re doing well and can quickly move on to the next step. Alternatively, follow the instructions and save any certificates you’re prompted to save before moving on.
Step 10:
Now launch the iOS App Signer app that you downloaded previously.
Step 11:
Tap the Browse button and choose the jailbreak app.IPA file you installed. In this situation, we’re using the unc0ver app we installed from unc0ver.dev.
Step 12:
Assign your Apple ID as the Signing Certificate. Also, choose your app identifier for the Provisioning Profile, and input an App Display Name and App Version. Once done, tap on the Start button.
Note: Don’t leave the Provisioning Profile field on Re-Sign. This does nothing and it can’t work.
Step 13:
Now you will prompt to save your sign.IPA file somewhere. Also, select your Desktop and tap the blue Save button.
Step 14:
Now, move back to Xcode and then navigate to Window -> Devices and Simulators.
Step 15:
In the latest window, remember that your iPhone is chosen in the sidebar on the left, and then tap on the + button near the bottom of the window.
Step 16:
However, a new window appears, move your Desktop and choose the signed.IPA file. Once done tap on the blue Open button.
Step 17:
After installed, move to Settings → General → Device Management on your iPhone or iPad and click on the Apple Development Apple ID option.
Step 18:
Then, click on the blue Trust button. Also, click on the red Trust button inside the popup that appears.
Step 19:
All done! Now Move back to the Home screen and launch the newly-installed jailbreak app.
Step 20:
Now click on the Jailbreak button.
All done!
Conclusion
Here’s all about ‘Install Side-load the Unc0ver jailbreak‘. The Xcode procedure isn’t as fast as the other methods for downloading side-loadable jailbreaks. But it can’t let me down yet. When the Cydia Impactor stops working again, or any other signing services stop working, then it’s a good backup method to get you up and running again. However, it can also help to familiarize you with using the Xcode interface if you’ve never used Apple’s development tools before.
