At the IFA 2018, Huawei officially confirmed that the presentation of the flagship smartphone series Mate 20 will take place on October 16 at a separate event in London. Earlier we saw leaks revealing the design and some characteristics of the Mate 20 Pro model, and now we will get acquainted with the basic version of the smartphone.
In the Chinese network Weibo appeared video on which imprinted Huawei Mate 20. Apparently, this is a prototype – on the back of the device, there is a logo Hyperion. The device, like the Pro version, will receive a triple main camera in an unusual square module, though in a slightly different arrangement. In all other respects, this smartphone model differs from Mate 20 Pro.
Under the main camera is a fingerprint scanner (Pro-version, as is known, will receive a screen fingerprint sensor). The front of the Mate 20 has a small teardrop-shaped cutout on the screen, which means that it does not have a hardware 3D recognition system on the face, which is rumored to find its application in the Mate 20 Pro.
According to rumors, Huawei Mate 20 will be built on the newest 7-nm chipset Kirin 980 in combination with the graphics processor Mali G76. Thus, the upcoming novelties from Huawei in this regard will become direct competitors of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max with the 7-nm chip Apple A12 Bionic.
