Delete iPhone Text Messages: How to?

Delete iPhone Text Messages: There are some text messages that you want to keep and other messages that you don’t care about. Sometimes there’s one message you want to hide it from others or don’t want to read this. And sometimes you can have your messages automatically removed, so there may be a time when you just want to delete them yourself.

For a new iPhone user, here’s a tip remember for maintenance, safety, or sanity. We’ll show you how to delete text messages on iPhone.

Delete iPhone Text Messages:

Suppose you have both messages and conversations on your iPhone. Conversations are those that are ongoing and messages are the texts you send to each other within those conversations. You can delete both messages and conversations, singularly or in groups.

You can delete:

  • Text messages
  • Individual conversations
  • Bulk conversations

Delete Text Messages:

Open the Messages app on your iPhone and then follow these steps to delete a single message within a conversation.

Step 1:

Choose the conversation containing the message you want to delete.

Step 2:

Click and hold the text message. You can delete both messages sent to you and those you send to others.

Step 3:

Select More from the shortcut menu.

Step 4:

The text message will be marked with a check. You can then click the Trash can icon to delete it.

If you want to remove some messages, select and mark them all and then click the Trash can or tap Delete All at the top to delete all of them.

Delete Individual Conversations:

You can also delete an entire conversation with someone in the Messages app.

Step 1:

Choose the conversation you want to delete.

Step 2:

Slide the conversation from right to left and click Delete.

Delete Bulk Conversations:

You can also get rid of a group of conversations at the same time in the Messages app.

Step 1:

Click the More button (three-dot icon) at the top of the Message screen.

Step 2:

Then choose Select Messages.

Step 3:

Check the conversations you wanted to delete.

Step 4:

Click Delete at the bottom and Done when you finish.

Conclusion:

It’s quite easy to delete text messages and conversations on your iPhone and it works similarly on iPad too. So the next time you want to delete one from your device, it takes just a few taps.
